COVID – 19

At Scott Makiol Biodentistry, we consider the safety and health of our patients and staff as our utmost priority. Given the current global COVID-19 pandemic, we are taking extra measures to help slow the spread such as:

• Encouraging patients to use the hand sanitiser located at our reception
area
• Requiring any staff who have been overseas to self-isolate for 14 days
upon arrival in Australia
• Continuing to follow our normal high standard of sanitation and infection control. This includes the wiping down of all surfaces following a dental appointment as well as the wearing of masks throughout all procedures.

Given the dynamic nature of the situation, rest assured that we are closely monitoring and following guidelines as set by the Department of Health. For the latest advice, information and resources about COVID-19, please call the National Coronavirus Help Line on 1800 020 080 or visit the website www.health.gov.au for up-to-date information. Please keep Triple Zero (000) for emergencies only.

What is COVID-19?

I have an upcoming appointment. What should I do?

We are open for business and are seeing patients as usual. However, if you have returned from any overseas travel in the last 14 days, we request that you reschedule your appointment for at least 14 days from your arrival in Australia. Please contact us at (07) 3848 2320 to arrange your new appointment. If you develop a fever, cough, sore throat, or shortness of breath within your period of self-isolation, please call your GP, local emergency department, or the Health Direct QLD Helpline on 13 43 25 84.

When you call, inform them of your travel history. Even if you did not travel overseas, we encourage you to reschedule your appointment to 2 weeks later if you are feeling unwell. If you develop any flu-like symptoms, please call your GP or emergency department first for advice. I have a dental emergency. What should I do? Please call us on (07) 3848 2320 for further advice.
